What people says about this recipe?
Anna Owens; It was absolutely delicious! Husband said it was the best soup he’s ever tasted.
Jennifer Goodyear; Easy to make and very flavourful. I didn’t have a he season packet in the beans so I put in a Knorrs vegetable soup mix. I also added celery, carrot and parsnip.
Sarah Driggs-Garcia; Very good bean soup! I followed recipe very closely, including adding the lemon juice. I did add chopped ham. It was perfectly balanced and very tasty. I will make this again!
Karin Biskey; Made this last night and it’s super tasty! If you’re hesitant about adding the lemon (like I was!), just do it, it cuts some of the richness and brings it all together.
Kate Murray; Being in the UK we don’t have that bean mix, nor can we easily obtain ham bones. I made my version with 1 small tin of lean ham, 1 tin of tomatoes, 1 tin of baked beans, 1 tin of kidney beans in chilli sauce, 1 chicken stock cube, 2 tins full of water and 1 onion. It went in the slow cooker all morning and ready by lunch time!
Janel Santos; Oh so goooooood! Perfect! I didn’t add chili powder, lemon, tomatoes or cayenne pepper. I used smoked neck bones and smoked ham. The best! Thank you.
Janey DeVries; Made this soup for dinner last night and used 1 pound of mild Italian Sausage instead of the ham. Also used the Cajun 15 bean soup mix and it was delicious. Definitely a keeper recipe.
Lauren AnnMarie; I first had this when I was a little girl when my aunt first got the recipe and shared it with my grandpa and he made it. This is one of my favorite foods.
